Weeds for Wellness: Nourish Yourself with a DIY Herbal Infusion!

At first glimpse, your backyard might seem like just that...a regular backyard. But did you know there's an abundance of mineral-rich goodness waiting to be unearthed right there? Today we're going to show you how to make an herbal tea using common "weeds" that will leave you feeling nourished, refreshed, and ready to take on the day. Plus, we'll dive into the benefits of this magical concoction and all the wonderful minerals it contains. So, maybe think twice next time you're going to bring out that weed whacker.

What's in the Mix?

For our nourishing herbal infusion, we'll be using three powerhouse ingredients: oatstraw, red raspberry leaf, and alfalfa. Now, I know what you're thinking - "Weeds? Really?" But trust me, these weeds are the good kind and they're packed with all the good stuff your body craves.

Step 1: Gather Your Weeds + Supplies

We did this part for you! Additionally, you'll just need a large mason jar (or any container with a tight-fitting lid) and some cheesecloth or a fine-mesh strainer.

Step 2: Mix It Up

Once you have your weeds in hand, it's time to mix things up. Grab your mason jar and add 1 cup of the blend to the jar. Then fill the jar with 4 cups of hot water, leaving a little room at the top, and screw on the lid.

Step 3: Let It Steep

Now comes the easy part — letting nature do its thing.  Let it steep for at least an hour, but we usually opt for overnight. While you're catching some Z's, those weeds are working their wonders, infusing the water with all their herbal goodness.

Step 4: Strain and Sip

The next morning, grab a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth and strain out the weeds. You'll be left with a beautiful, healthy drink that's just begging to be sipped. Pour yourself a cup, take a deep breath, and enjoy the nourishing flavors of your homemade herbal infusion. Be sure to compost the remaining weeds!
